The Tucson institution since 1971 — famous for its slushy frozen-fruit eegee (~$3) and crinkle-cut ranch fries. The half-grinder combo (sub + chips + drink) is $5.99 and subs run $7–8, so two eat for around $12–16. Skip the biggie upgrades and the value is unbeatable. Many locations citywide.
Com Tam Thuan Kieu
Pho $6.50–$7.50, Vermicelli ~$8
A modest, much-loved Vietnamese spot tucked beside Lee Lee International Market, widely called Tucson's best. Pho runs $6.50 small / $7.50 large and vermicelli bowls land around $8–9 — two eat for $15–18. (The loaded com tam broken-rice plates climb toward $14, so steer to pho.) Closed Tuesdays.
Ugly But Honest
Place-Mat NY Slices ~$7–8
A downtown Five Points beer garden in a 1933 former car lot, slinging NY-style pizza by the slice. The slices are the size of a place mat — a cheese slice runs about $7–8 ($10 with a fountain drink) and is big enough that two split a couple for around $16. Calzones, cannoli and local drafts too.

Pizza plus Italian ice from an original Eegee's owner — and the eegee-style frozen drinks come with no food coloring. The snack box (half a pizza plus fries) is $9 and slices run a few dollars, so two load up for under $20. Thin, crispy crust; two locations with a drive-thru.
